Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) owns and operates Cochin International Airport (IATA: COK), one of India's most successful airport infrastructure projects and the country's first airport developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Established in 1999, the airport has evolved into a major aviation gateway connecting Kerala with domestic and international destinations across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other global markets.
Located approximately 28 kilometres from Kochi, Kerala, Cochin International Airport is among India's busiest airports and plays a critical role in connecting the state to international markets. The airport currently serves 31 countries through 24 airline partners and handles more than 10 million passengers annually. It accounts for a significant share of Kerala's total air passenger traffic, highlighting its strategic importance within India's aviation ecosystem.

CIAL is globally recognized for sustainability and innovation. In 2015, it became the world's first fully solar-powered airport, setting a benchmark for renewable energy adoption in the aviation industry. The company subsequently expanded its green energy portfolio through multiple solar power projects and a hydroelectric power plant, increasing its cumulative renewable energy capacity to approximately 50 MW. Today, CIAL generates more electricity than its own operational requirements, making it a power-positive airport and one of Kerala's largest renewable energy producers. Its pioneering environmental initiatives earned the prestigious United Nations "Champions of the Earth" Award.

The airport operates three passenger terminals, including India's first dedicated Business Jet Terminal and a modern international terminal equipped with advanced passenger handling, security and immigration infrastructure. Together, the terminals provide a peak-hour handling capacity of approximately 8,000 passengers and support a wide range of aircraft operations, including wide-body international aircraft. The airport also maintains modern air traffic management systems, cargo facilities and aviation support infrastructure designed to meet international operational standards.
Beyond airport operations, CIAL has diversified its business through wholly-owned subsidiaries engaged in duty-free retail operations, green energy generation and aviation support services. The company also has exposure to infrastructure development and maintenance projects through strategic investments and partnerships. This diversified business model enables CIAL to generate revenue from multiple sources including passenger traffic, aeronautical services, commercial real estate, retail operations, cargo handling, renewable energy and aviation services.
Over its 24+ years of operations, CIAL has established a reputation for operational excellence, financial resilience and infrastructure development. The company has consistently expanded its facilities to accommodate rising passenger traffic while maintaining strong service standards. Notably, CIAL emerged as one of the few airport operators in India to remain profitable soon after the pandemic period and has maintained a track record of dividend distribution to shareholders since 2003-04. Supported by a diverse shareholder base spanning thousands of investors across multiple countries, Cochin International Airport Limited continues to strengthen its position as one of India's most successful airport infrastructure companies and a unique airport-focused unlisted investment opportunity.
CIAL has built its brand around operational efficiency, passenger convenience and service quality. Through partnerships with major domestic and international airlines, the airport provides seamless connectivity across global destinations while maintaining high standards of safety, security and customer experience. Its modern infrastructure, premium passenger amenities, retail offerings, dining facilities and specialized aviation services have helped position Cochin International Airport as one of India's leading airport hubs and an important gateway to Kerala.
